Other than growing vegetables in the garden or a farm, he most likely needs a partner who can operate a business and report income tax. He would most likely have a contract that only (1) he, (2) his partner, and (3) his lawyer knows. In this contract they will stipulate how much he contributes in capital, the tax will be paid by his partner, and how they will distribute the income. There is nothing illegal to have a contract like this.
His partner will then run the business according to their agreement, and the business will make or fail depending on its own merit.
The illegal alien cannot legally work even in his business, but most illegal aliens are not sitting at home eating bon-bons.
