Yes it is free, but everything has a cost. If you download that, you will get virus guarantee, no matter how good your anti software is. Stuff like that, considered as 'ads' usually contain virus and Trojans. If you wish to get rid of the advertisements, you can:

1. Right click on the picture or advertisement.
2. Find where it says Block Images From .....
3. Click on Block Images From...(Example is Block Images from www.viruspics.org)
4. After that, the images of the advertisements are gone. You must used Firefox to do this, if you don't have Firefox, then you should download it since Firefox is very fast, and you get fewer risks of getting virus than internet Explorer.

   If you do not want to go through all this trouble, then just don't click.
