What does pitch mean in science?

Pitch as in sound, ie physics relates to frequency measured in cycles per second or more popularly hertz (Hz).

Further study: This is also dependent on the wavelength of a soundwave, as if the wave is longer, it will take longer for the cycle to pass from one crest of a wave to the next crest etc
