Can you change a promise to god?

If you view God as the Big Rule Maker in the Sky, then to break a promise would bring his wrath. But if your view of God is biblical, you'll see he wants to relate to you as Father, Lord, Friend, Elder Brother, Savior, All-Sufficient One, etc. He wants a deep, meaningful relationship with you. No rules, no have-to's, just loving, ever-maturing relationship. So talk to him about everything. The big things as well as the little things. He wants you to grow into increasing freedom. He doesn't want you to be bound by anything--including Video Games. Our relationship with God is a PROCESS, and we have to become comfortable with that process. I know I wrestle with that a lot; I want to "arrive" already!
