What where toilets like in the past?

well there were lots of different kinds of toilets in the past.

last century, they had outside loos, in the back garden, in a shed. they would smell awful.

centuries before this there was only chamber pots, small pots that you had under your bed, and you 'went' in them, then threw it out the window. this was also in William shakespeares time.

the toilet was invented by Thomas Krapper (i know! ;D )
