How long does homemade pizza take to cook?

Home Pizza in a pan:

Heat oven to the highest temperature - just short of "broil" on most home oven dials. Make sure the oven has heated sufficiently prior to inserting the pizza.


Using an aluminum pizza pan and assuming medium thin to thin crust - the pizza should be done in about 11 minutes. Use a visual cue and when it looks 'done' it is generally done.


The bottom may still be white - do not use any oil on the pan because this will diminish the capacity of the bottom to cook.


If you have a higher power convection oven - set the temp to about 510 F and set the timer for about 9 minutes.
