Sitemap as name indicates map of site. For example if you want to go somewhere and you don't have a map then how could you efficiently reach your destination. Just in the same way if google or any other search engine doesn't find the way or I can say interconnected links of your website then how can it crawl your website in right way and that is why Sitemap is important in SEO.
