What are common experiences and emotions the pioneers have?

If you're talking about the Oregon trail kind of pioneers...they went through hard times. They had to deal with sickness, broken supplies (wagon, tools...etc.), going though rivers. It was hard to travel 2,000 miles to Oregon.
