What should you eat before you exercise?

If you choose to eat before exercising have a light snack. I wouldn't go for a whole meal just enough to get you by so that you can replenish yourself afterwards and not feel guilty about it.

A few example of what you can eat before exercising are;

A banana (or another small piece of fruit like an Apple)

A small fruit smoothie (like about 8 ounces)

A cup of low-fat yogurt

A glass of Orange Juice.

Some foods you should try to avoid eating before you exercise are:

A hamburger

A stack of pancakes with eggs, sausage and hash browns with a cup of coffee to drink

A large salad

A lot of water. You should drink a lot of water afteryou've exercised, not before or else you might be "water logged" and get an upset stomach while your, say, jogging. Drinking water after you exercise will rehydrate the water you lost during your exercise routine.
