How much municipal waste is recycled each year?

Household waste:Recyclable:

• All clean paper, newspaper and cardboard
• All clean steel and aluminium cans
• All glass bottles and jars
• Most kinds of clean plastic containers and bottles
• Electronic waste, old TVs, radiOS, computers, printers

Compostable (or recycled through a worm farm or fed to animals)

• All leaves, small branches and vegetable peelings
• Food scraps (no meat or fish in the compost)

Although just about everything is recyclable, including all plastic, you may find that the recyclers in your area will not take everything! It depends on the facilities they have and how economic the process is for them.
