This needs to be monitored closely because improper occlusion can result in severe long-term problems, such as premature and severe wear of the teeth, and TMJ (jaw joint) pain and damage. It is important to avoid these problems because sometimes they are not reversable, and they are always expensive and time-consuming to correct.
