Who is Magdalena Dead from Song of Solomon?

Magdalena Dead is the oldest sister of Macon "Milkman" Dead III, and the daughter of Macon Dead II and Ruth Dead.

Throughout the novel, she is referred to as Lena. Though she is not a main character, she is very important to the novel and her insight compels Milkman, the protagonist, to begin his search for self-discovery.
