Who was Irene Fenton Reynolds?

Irene Fenton Reynolds was a divorcee from Gloucester, Massachusetts, who secretly married inventor and collector John Hays Hammond, Jr., in 1926. A multi-talented woman, she became Hammond's partner in his Spiritualist experiments. Irene died in 1959 and was buried in an above-ground mausoleum on the grounds of Hammond Castle, the Hammond's home and laboratory in Gloucester. The Castle is now a museum.
