How do you clean your bones reds skateboard bearings can i do it with wd 40. And do i take the red rubber cover off to clean it or do i leave it on?

hey.. i clean my bone reds in minreal turps/ paint thinner and other liquids like that... and DO NOT wash or lubricate them in wd 40 it is a dirt magent and shortens the life span by alot for your bearings..and take the transparent sorta white cover off the back of the bearing so when u take that off u should see the little ball bearings u can do and it wont damage it and u can also clean it with it on but the process is faster with the cover off and when your done cleaning them u have to dry then get all residue out and relube them BEFORE u put the shield on and then with any lube on ur fingers wipe it all over ur bearing after u have put the shield on
