If you were in Green Bay Wisconsin would you be closer to the Equator or the North Pole?

Cadott, Wisconsin, is half way between the equator and the north pole, or so says a sign posted in their community. Madison is south and east of Cadott, so it's closer to the equator.

A better way to determine this is to look up the latitude on which Madison is located. According to Wikipedia, it is at 43°4' N (latitude) and 89°24' W (longitude). Since the equator is 0° and the north pole 90°, Madison is closer to the equator than to the north pole.
(just by a little though, i am not sure how much)
