What is the foundation for spiritual growth?

Reading God's Word, spending time with God, and going to church. Because The Bible says: Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God Romans 10:17

The Bible also says that man is born spiritually dead and is therefore not able to discern spirtual things.

1Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Man must be spiritually reborn to understand spirtual things and to grow spiritually.

Act 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

1Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

There are countless people who grow spiritually without ever even having seen the bible. The true foundation for spiritual growth is the willingness to set aside what we think and feel about how things should be, in favor of opening our eyes, hearts, and minds, to what God demonstrates to us day in and day out that God is. Letting go of our ideas about God, and especially what we've been told about God, in favor for our experience of God. Spiritual growth comes from continued, persistent effort in applying spiritual principles (honesty, forgiveness, generosity, humility, acceptance, compassion, etc. to every one of our decisions, rather than living life in management mode, making decisions by judging which outcome is most desirable to us and presuming we know what actions will achieve it. In other Words, the ends never justify the means, because the means are what actually matter.)
