Why sound is non-matter?

Sound is considered non-matter because it is a wave motion that propagates through a medium, typically air or water, by causing particles in the medium to vibrate. It does not possess mass or occupy space like matter does. Sound waves can travel through the medium but do not have a physical presence themselves.
