TPC sawgrass why is the grass so brown?

It is a hybrid Bermuda grass on the greens. That grass is pale green at best. For the tournament, it is cut very short with hardly any leaf growth producing a very fast putting surface. Think about cutting your lawn to the quick. That is what they are doing at the TPC for the tournament. They are also reducing the amount of moisture on the greens to make them very hard. After the tournament, they will increase the watering and return them to a more familiar color and putting speed.
