A giant Israeli flag that measures 328 feet long by 656 feet wide, weighing over 11,000 pounds. It was unfurled at Masada in Israel in November 2007. It was previously unfurled in Manila, the Philippines in June 2007, but was not confirmed at that time. A smaller, but still giant, Philippines flag was also unfurled. They were to symbolize the relationship between Israel and the Philippines. Its motivation came from a Christian Filipina who claims that God told her to create the flag during "thunder and lightning" and that the flag is the standard of God. The flags were made in the Philippines.
The previous world's biggest flag was an American flag called "Superflag". It held the record for over a decade and was created in commemoration of the Olympic torch relay before the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. It was unfurled at the Hoover Dam in 1996. It is 255 feet wide by 505 feet long and weighs 3,000 pounds.
