Why did simba want to go to the elefhant graveyard?

He was trying to be brave like his father. He says it to Mufasa in defense of himself when lectured about disobeying. His uncle Scar stuck this idea in his head by claiming that only the breavest lions go there and then "accidentally" revealing what the place is. So Simba went looking for trouble there and took a friend with him so he could protect her like his daddy protects the pride and other loved ones. So; Simba wanted to go to the elephant graveyard because he was trying to be brave like his father. Because of his young age, he just failed to understand that being brave is not the same as going looking for trouble.
