In the Sims 2 castaway psp your sim can not pick up the hieroglyphic on the shipwreck why?

You should be able to. I encountered the same problem with another heiroglyphic I was trying to pick up. I eventually got it by backing it up and approaching it from a different angle. Try choosing the option to pick it up from as far away as you can.
