Were Derringers used in the World War 2 time period?

The Deringer pistol (the one letter R was the original brand name) was created in 1852, and became synonymous with a one or two shot very small concealable pistol. They are still in use today, so yes, they were around in WW II- but not as a primary issue military weapon.
