Is the house of night series appropriate for kids?

While this depends on the meaning of "kids" (i.e. the age range you would consider to be a child) and the maturity of the child in question, it contains some scenes of violence and sex; while few and far between, these scenes would make it inappropriate for anybody under the age of about 13.
