Are electric stove heating elements machine washable?

Yes they are - just be sure that the connection points are completely dry and residue free before reinstalling them. Also, when putting the elements in the dishwasher, space them out so that they don't hit against each other due to vibrations and such during the wash cycle. When removing them from the washer, check them carefully for any fractures or chips that might lead to problems later on.

If you are still unsure, the elements are quickly and easily cleaned in the sink as well.
