How did St. Patrick die?

In checking a few Saint Patrick sources they tend to agree that St. Patrick died of natural causes around the year 493 AD (though others give the year of death as closer to 460 AD). The date of his death is most often given as March 17, a day the Irish celebrate each year and invite all to be Irish for a day and join in the festivities.
