Why did Kathy Lee Gifford leave Regis?

Kathy Lee Gifford left "Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee" in 2000 to pursue other opportunities, including her music career and acting projects. She felt it was the right time for a change after 15 years on the show. Gifford wanted to focus on new creative endeavors and spend more time with her family.
