How can you help a friend who was robbed and is scared at night?

Mine and my wife's house was burglarized on Christmas Eve 2009. Over $8000 worth of items were taken. My wife was scared and couldn't go to sleep at all that night. We stayed at our house that same night. What we did is just secure our doors and Windows and just briefly talked about it. If your friend wants, leave a light on, tv (if one is in the bedroom) and fall asleep to it. This may sound crazy also but my cousin did an exact replica of the "ADT Security" sign and we put it i all our Windows along with a beware of dog sign even though we don't have dogs. Paranoia will be there. My wife still is paranoid to this day even when we leave town for a couple hours. But the way we looked at it is, they took what they wanted the first time around so the chances of them coming back are slim. Hope this helps. Like i mentioned, we can relate to your friend 100 %.
