How do you hook up a CD player to a 98 Avalon it has a special harness which has no wires for the front speakers only plugs the CD plaer works but i cant hear nothing.?

you could also strip one side of an rca wire and run it to you ddor speakers, totally eliminating the preamp.

Answercheck for ans AUX plug AnswerHey man, I have a '98 Avalon and I had someone else install my CD player in. The reason is because the Avalon has little amplifiers for each speakers, so you won't be getting the same connections like you would for any other system. If you do connect it, you won't be getting all the speakers to work because there's 5 speakers total (6 channels in all). I had to install an amplifier later in order to get all the speakers to work man, just letting you know.
