Its a funny question to answer for a few reasons: 1) You normally need things other than your paycheck, like statements that come or especially Form 1099 (from any accounts or expenses, or even prior years state refund) that come sometime before the end of January. And while a apy stub may be used, the for W-2, sent by your employer is really what you need to use. If your thinking of using a pay stub at a tax service...and getting a "refund anticipation loan" (an RAL, where you get the refund fast almost immeadiate, but really your getting a loan by the Co against the one that will come in a very short while anyway).....DON'T DO IT! These are always shown to be just about the most expensive forms of loans...with the actual amount you pay being several times the maximum legal amount, (but gotten away with by charging aso an over priced tax service, or handling, or something else). YOU LOSE BADLY. 2) This year (2007), because of problems Congress is having a problem deciding on something to do with AMT (which agreeably may not effect you), the 2007 forms haven't even been able to be made by the IRS yet (almost December), and that will take a number of weeks once the law is passed!
