Do you have to be a certain nationality to join the police?

depends on the rules for that part of town/city. Normaly the only requirements is that you be a LEGAL resident and have a work visa if you are NOT a citizen. keep in mind, that if youre here on a visa, that may not be good enough. it has to be a WORK VISA. and a green card doesnt allow you to get work just because its green.

Must have a high school diploma (many wont take a GED)

not have any imoral issues pending in the past 3-5 years

have 20/20 vision or corrected vision
