What can a thesis statement say about stay at home mothers?

A thesis statement is a 1 to 2 sentence declaration of the main point of your paper or essay. As such, it can only be decided upon by the writer (since no one knows what views you want to include).

For example, 2 students may write about the same topic: stay at home mothers. One student believes constant mothering has positive influences on children. The second student believes that children learn more from working mothers and from being more independent. Each student must develop a thesis statement that reflects the points each want to make in their writing.
