Science is a good servant but a bad master?

True. Science is a way of understanding the world. It is a technique. It is an explanation. If anyone uses it as a value system then chaos results. Such happened during the Reign of Terror in France when people worshipped the "General Will" or today's "Sense of the Group." During the Nazi Era, worshipping the doctrine "Survival of the Fittest," brought the Holocaust. Worshipping the doctrines of Communism brought the deaths of 100 million.

All of them took a scientific doctrine and misapplied it. Today we have people following some theory without evaluating the results. When the idea proves to be a failure, those who put it into effect do not change it because they gained power by using it and by using it they keep their jobs.
