The majority of plums are hybrids. Hybrid fruit trees almost always produce sterile seeds (they won't grow at all) and if they do grow there is a very small chance they would produce fruit and if it did produce fruit there is a very small chance it would produce plums like the one it came from. My advice would be save yourself the aggravation and throw it away.

But if you want to give it a try anyway, let the seed dry completely, put it in the refrigerator for 8 weeks and then put it in a small pot with bottom heat (about 75 degrees) and keep it moist--not soggy. If it is not sterile it should sprout in 4-5 weeks and then it's just a waiting game to see if it grows into a tree that is sterile or not.

i hope this helps you!
