Where is the thermostat located on a 1995 vw golf gti 2.o?

grab yourself a bentley manual and save yourself a lot of future headaches. they can be found for around $50. I had a 93 2.0 OBD1 at one time and believe the thermostat to be on the right side of the cylinder head (the side that mates with tranny). drain your coolant first, use channel lock pliers for the spring clip and pull the hose off. Then you can remove the housing which contains the thermostat. I might be wrong GL
