Why did rizal not pursue his doctorate in medicine?

Rizal did not pursue his doctorate in medicine because he was more interested in advocating for the rights and equality of Filipinos, as well as in writing literature and essays that would inspire social change and nationalism. He believed that through his writings, he could better serve his country and fight against the injustices and abuses of colonial rule.
