The main influences in a birth chart are considered to be the Sun, the Moon and the rising sign. These indicate the primary motivations in life (Sun), the emotional expression (Moon) and the manner in which the native presents themselves to the world and areas most influential in the native's life (Asc). Other factors in the natal chart can sometimes have more influence than these, but very rarely.
