When was the first lizard discovered?

Dinosaurs were fist named as a group in the late 1800's, but that was only when people were aware of them for the first time. Man probably discovered these amazing creatures centurys before, thinking they were mythical creatures. It has been proven that when the Chinese discovered these bones (Who knows when) ground them up into medicines. Unless we could take time traveling trips around the world, this question may remain unanswered.
