How do you get keys for the 99 Mercury Mountaineer if you have only one and how do you locate the electronic code to open the door?

we have a 97 and the code is in the on right side in the back. But we went the dealers and they did it for us and it was about 20.00 the key is higher so we had one made at Walmart but it will not open the doors but it will start it.
