Has someone famous said life is beautiful?

"Life Is Beautifull" is a quote by Russian revolutionary and Marxist theorist Leon Trotsky.

One of the basic leaders of the Russian Revolution in 1917, Trotsky came gradually to disagreement with the Joseph Stalin regime, and in 1928 was exiled in Kazakhstan and later in Turkey.

He spent the later years of his life in France, Norway, and Mexico where he was eventually assassinated in August 20, 1940 by a Russian agent.

Six months before his death he wrote his testament. where among other things he said: "Natasha (his wife) has just come up to the window from the courtyard and opened it wider so that the air may enter more freely into my room. I can see the bright green strip of grass beneath the wall, and the clear blue sky above the wall, and sunlight everywhere. Life is beautiful. Let the future generations cleanse it of all evil, oppression and violence, and enjoy it to the full."
