I would try an oxyclean type product first. I would then try a mild soap and oxyclean. I would then try seltzer. I would then go to Wal Mart or another store and look for a laundry color bleed remover. I would test the color remover or any product with chemical action on an inconspicuous part of the sofa first. Same procedure for carpeting. You shouldn't have to use a professional cleaning service. By the way, it would have to be a good one because they might not know what to do but fake it because they want your money. Also find out who made the fabric - they might have stain removal info on their web site.
