How do you check your metro pcs voice mail from another phone?

I called *611 this evening and asked customer service if Metropcs had an access # and referred to ATT and Sprint Flat out NO they do not offer this service

WRONG!! Call your phone from another telephone. When your voicemail starts, press *. Enter your 4 digit passWord. You're in!

Customer service, unfortunately, are still giving out wrong information. The rep just told me today that I could not check my voicemail if I was calling from another phone. I didn't think that was right so I just tried it a few minutes ago.
