Where can a law enforcement officer carry a firearm?

Varies state to state in the US. In general, they may carry anywhere except inside of a jail, prison or mental hospital. It may be restricted for safety reasons in places like a gasoline refinery or explosives storage area. It requires prior approval for some Federally controlled areas, such as on board aircraft.
