1989 Chevy 350 5.7 timing and firing order setup?

If the distributor has not been removed, bring the timing mark to the timing plate on the front of the motor. The rotor should also be pointing to the front driver's side of the block. this is #1 cylinder. The wire position on the distributor cap is also#1 and the firing order is 1,8,4,36,5,7,2 clockwise looking down at the top of the distributor. If you're not sure, go to the local parts store & look up in a Haynes manual. The local Public Library also might have the manual.
