yes the 89 cr 250 is hard to start, i have found that if you change the brand of oil that you mix it messes up even more.
it depends what its doing, yes mixing different brands of oil screws it up but not as much as u think because its oiling the piston no matter what, just burning different. I have an 89 cr250r, and i have a similar problem, but i just changed piston and rings, along with the gasgets, now it works fine, i sugest since its giving you problems, i sugest doing wat i did, oh and if its cold out its gona be hard to start, oh and make sure ur carb is clean along with a working choke...it helps trust me.....oh and im kinda stumped at the moment with my bike the kicker is acting funny and i looked over everything couldn't find anything, it cranks but doesnt move the piston...like turn over, but then it catches and works, like i don't know i might of striped the crank or somthing, but its new, well any way for u i sugest a new set of rings, gaskets, and a new piston i prefer pro-x pistons....way better than wiseco.
