There are two forms of pronouns that show possession.
Possessive pronouns take the place of a noun that belongs to someone or something.
Possessive adjectives describe a noun as belonging to someone or something. A possessive adjective is placed just before the noun it describes.
The possessive pronoun and possessive adjective form of the personal pronoun 'he' is his.
Examples:
Jack lives on this street. The house on the corner is his. (possessive pronoun)
Jack lives on this street. His house is on the corner. (possessive adjective)
