Two types of computer software

There are two main types of computer software: system software and application software.

System software: System software provides the platform for other software to run on. It includes the operating system, device drivers, and utility programs that manage the computer's resources and maintain the basic functions of the computer.

Application software: Application software is designed for end-users to perform specific tasks. This type of software includes productivity tools, games, multimedia applications, and other programs that can be installed on a computer. Some examples of application software include Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, google Chrome, and Spotify.
