How many books total will a song of fire and ice be?

There are going to be seven books, however there maybe more depending on where you live as sometimes the international publishers decide to split the books up in to multiple ones. So far he has only written five complete ones, A game of Thrones, A feast for Crows, A Storm of SWord, A feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons. His next books will be The Winds of Winter.
