Why did Mrs Whatsit tell Meg to stay angry?

In "A Wrinkle In Time," Mrs. Whatsit tells Meg to stay angry because she believes the anger will cause her to be stronger when facing the obstacles that lie before them. She also tells them all to remain strong, and that of all the children, it's Calvin who faces the greatest danger.
