When and how car invented?

The first practical autmobile was invented in Germany by Karl Benz in 1886. It was a 3 wheel vehicle called the Benz Patent Motorwagen. It has a 3/4 h.p water cooled gasoline engine with a top speed of 8 mph and was steered with a tiller. It had no top and could seat 2 people.
