Does putting makeup in a refrigerator keep it fresh?

This is a response from a scientist. I only put unused makeup in the fridge. Heat caused chemical reactions that will lead to break down of the chemicals but most importantly, the fats in the makeup, especially foundations, will become rancid over a period of time. Also, low temperatures slowdown bacterial growth and lengthens the life span of antimicrobials in the makeup. Must avoid moving your makeup back and forth between hot and cold temperatures. This affects its consistency.
